What’s involved in a Holistic Health Assessment?
Domains of Health
There are eight aspects of the human experience that I believe have a significant impact on our health and wellbeing and thus require our careful attention when considering our whole health. Whatever your primary concern or goals, you will find me referring back to these crucial pillars often.
Rapidly growing evidence supports the success of focusing on lifestyle medicine. Let me inspire and support you to empower yourself and make lasting changes.
Nutrition. Movement. Sleep. Mindfulness & Meditation. Environment. Community & Purpose. Spirituality.
Your body is one dynamic integrated system. It includes your mind. It’s all connected.
An holistic approach to health recognises this fact along with the importance of an individual’s culture, spirituality, values, lifestyle and experience.
I’m interested in the whole person. Their whole story. I endeavour to support people in reclaiming their personal sovereignty when it comes to health and wellness. My practice is inclusive so I am happy to explore working with anyone interested in my services, and we can do this both in person and virtually.
It is my pleasure and privilege to be able to take the time to get to know what is happening for individuals physically, emotionally and mentally, within the context of their relationships, their environment and their human experience. In order for me to help you on your journey, I need to get to know you. To do this, I provide a comprehensive Holistic Health Assessment where we’ll invest in an initial assessment phase involving a preliminary health, wellness and relationship questionnaire and a 90 min consultation. Together we shall gently reflect on previous experience, consider past traumas and examine patterns of behavior. We will discuss your engagements with other health providers, therapists or healers and we’ll examine motivations for and barriers to change. Our work together will explore your world, and we’ll identify desired outcomes based on your values. You will have the time to really share your journey up to booking this appointment with me. Following on from this you’ll receive a detailed email summary from me including reflections, further thoughts and recommendations for ongoing work. We’ll then schedule a 15 min follow up phone call to expand on my written formulation, explore further questions and plan next steps.
You may come to me with the intention of working on a particular aspect of your life. Ie. Your gut health or your relationship with your partner, and whilst the bulk of our work may indeed focus there, I find it is ALWAYS useful to begin with a comprehensive Holistic Assessment. Remember, everything is connected.
Once we have a shared understanding about areas to work on, further engagement will allow us to progress to identifying your goals and formulating a personalised plan together.
I do offer single sessions, however health coaching is most beneficial when we commit to working together over a period of time.
This journey can also be taken as a couple or family unit.
